Classes for Caregivers
Caregivers are strongly encouraged to attend classes we offer to prepare them for their role. Classes are offered every week at the “HUTCH”. Instruction is given in administering medications and intravenous fluids, taking care of the central line, preventing infections, recognizing and managing Patient’s symptoms from home. Information on adjusting to recovery during and after transplant is also offered.
Vita's assistance fund covers all food, lodging, and transportation costs of caregiver volunteers, including airfares to and from Seattle.
